Amidst the dreariness and stagnant freeze of winter, there remains a beacon of fulfillment for football fans across the nation. A Super Bowl party can enliven you and your friends for one solitary February night, but what will your football centerpiece be to built the occasion around? Fortunately, you have plenty of time to find it, but don’t delay in starting your search for the piece de résistance.
While you are looking for your Lost Ark, you can start reviewing some other party items that will make the occasion a hit. Foam fingers, jerseys and face-paint are all fun to have around and get into the spirit of the game. You can also get some paper plates, cups and other serving items with football-themed designs. Try to bring in some of the local team colors, even if they aren’t in the Super Bowl.
Beer is a necessity. Buy a reasonable amount, but not too much. You don’t want anyone overindulging if driving is going to be involved, nor do you want to be stuck with a fridge full of Coors Light for the next month. Moderation is key, especially if you are going to be buying expensive hard liquor to make cocktails. Be certain to brew up a pot of coffee as the fourth quarter draws down.
You don’t want anyone leaving hungry, so have plenty of food placed around the house. People will be moving around from room to room, but mostly hovering wherever there is a TV. Don’t make people go to a room without a television to snack on some chips and dip. Strategically place food, plates and napkins in areas where people will be hanging out.
